Historic Fairfax City Inc. is pleased to support the City of Fairfax’s FY25 proposed budget that includes funding for additional staff in the Office of Historic Resources. This is the first time in over 20 years that a proposed new staff member would be added to the office!
The Historic Resources Office currently operates with only one full-time director, three part-time staff, and a handful of dedicated volunteers. Together this small but mighty team is responsible for the preservation and management of three historic properties within the City of Fairfax, including the Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center and Historic Blenheim. HFCI is grateful to the City for showing its support to protect and preserve the legacy of Fairfax.
HFCI encourages all its members and those in the community who are interested in Fairfax history to let the City Council know you support the FY25 proposed budget that includes increased staffing for the Office of Historic Resources. Here’s what you can do:
- Submit a comment: send your letter of support to the City Council via email (publichearing@fairfaxva.gov) or the eComment web portal (https://fairfax.
granicusideas.com/meetings) - Speak at a public hearing: FY2025 Budget Public Hearings are happening all through April and early May. See dates here. Register in advance with the city clerk’s office at (703) 385-7935.
